My name is Leigh and I am a BACP registered psychotherapist who works with an integrative approach with individual adults of all ages. I provide counselling and therapy services to those within Newcastle Upon Tyne and the greater North Tyneside area. I offer face-to-face appointments or sessions over the internet via video call.
If you are reading this because you are facing a challenging time right now, I would love to support you in your journey to reaching your therapeutic goal.
There is no right or wrong reason to have therapy. You may be facing difficult feelings that are overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or anger; or you may be finding it a challenge to like yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationships and would like to work on ways to improve how you relate to people. Or you may be coming to terms with a trauma or a loss in your life and are looking to process your experience and find a way forward. Alternatively you may simply feel that something in your life is not quite right, even though that something isn’t clear yet. We come to therapy for a variety of reasons.
Interested to learn more about group therapy? I also offer a space for adults who may be neurodivergent. Find out more here.
It can be difficult to understand how simply talking can be useful if you’ve never experienced counselling. But talking to someone who’s trained to listen and respond in a certain way can be profoundly helpful. Every individual is different, you may find that a small handful of sessions to make sense of your inner thoughts may be enough, and for others you may prefer long-term work to get to the root of your issues. Whatever the case may be, we can discuss and decide this together. You are in control of your own therapeutic journey.
As every individual is different, I will listen to your story and tailor the way we work to suit you and your needs. Therapy can’t erase a difficult past, but it can equip you in moving forward, increasing your resilience, and enabling you to make positive and lasting changes.
If you would like to discuss my way of working and decide if it suits you, then please email me or use my contact form to organise a free initial phone consultation.
This is our chance to speak, test the waters and explore any questions you have. There is no obligation to enter into therapy with me; you are welcome to use this as an opportunity to work out what you want and need.
If at the end of our chat we conclude that I’m not the right therapist for you, I’m very happy to make helpful recommendations to support you in finding someone else who can provide therapy and counselling within the Newcastle and North Tyneside area.
I look forward to hearing from you.
