Hi, I'm Leigh

Counselling and Therapy services in Newcastle and North Tyneside

My name is Leigh and I am a neurodivergent psychotherapist who can offer a range of services:

  • Individual therapy
  • Relationship therapy (also known as couples therapy)
  • Neurodivergent life management support
  • Supervision – for both individuals and group

I am BACP registered and with a relational and integrative approach. I offer face-to-face appointments or online sessions via Zoom.

If you are reading this because you are facing a challenging time right now, I would love to support you in your journey to reaching your therapeutic goal.

There is no right or wrong reason to have therapy. You may be facing difficult feelings that are overwhelming. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression or anger; or you may be finding it a challenge to like yourself. Perhaps you’re struggling with relationships and would like to work on ways to improve how you relate to people. Or you may be coming to terms with a trauma or a loss in your life and are looking to process your experience and find a way forward. Alternatively you may simply feel that something in your life is not quite right, even though that something isn’t clear yet.  We come to therapy for a variety of reasons.

I can help you gain insight around your internalised beliefs, unconscious patterns and repeated behaviours that may dictate your life, so that you feel empowered to make healthier, more autonomous decisions. While you explore your emotions at a pace that is right for you, I will listen without making any judgements, seeking to help you overcome barriers and make progress on your journey.

I choose to be integrative in my approach as I believe that the needs and story behind each individual are unique and a “one size fits all” ethos cannot be applied when it comes to therapy. Together we will find a style that works for you.

As every individual is different, I will listen to your story and tailor the way we work to suit you and your needs. Therapy can’t erase a difficult past, but it can equip you in moving forward, increasing your resilience, and enabling you to make positive and lasting changes.

If you would like to discuss my way of working and decide if it suits you, then please email me or use my contact form to organise a free initial phone consultation.

This is our chance to speak, test the waters and explore any questions you have. There is no obligation to enter into therapy with me; you are welcome to use this as an opportunity to work out what you want and need.

If at the end of our chat we conclude that I’m not the right therapist for you, I’m very happy to make helpful recommendations to support you in finding someone else who can provide therapy and counselling within the Newcastle and North Tyneside area.

I look forward to hearing from you.
